BACKGROUND

Alexander Koop, born 1976, studied political science, sociology and philosophy at the University of Hanover, Germany. He has a little son and lives with his family in Hanover.
After graduation Alexander worked as a consultant for Rambøll Management, an international management consultancy that focuses on the public sector. Since 2008 he is working (again) as a project manager for the Bertelsmann Foundation, a private operating and non-partisan think tank that designs and implements its own projects to encourage social change. His field of work includes analysis of political and social problems and design, management and evaluation of model projects in public sector focussing on aspects of good governance.

TASKS AND DUTIES IN THE FOUNDATION

Alexander belongs to the initial members of the Board of Directors. As Director of External Relations he is mainly responsible for the cooperation with the foundation's partner organizations in Germany.

AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION

In context with Alexander’s job as consultant and project manager and due to the fact, that he lives and works in Germany, Alexander’s areas of specialization are the support in initiating, designing and evaluating projects and the communication with possible sponsors and donors in Germany and the European Union.
